PM1 Academic Writing

Use all three given sentences to formulate a new, compound-complex sentence. Watch your punctuation.

1.  Mike was in a car accident on his way to work.

   He was not injured.

   His car was not seriously damaged.

2.  I went to bed early after an exhausting day at work.

   I tossed and turned for hours.

   I was able to fall asleep.

3.  He has been studying French for 10 years.

    He is unable to communicate.

    He cannot formulate the most basic sentences.
